Щодо його останнього повідомлення, наскільки я зрозумів, він нібито дивився, які мови Фандом у довготривалій перспективі... Коротше кажучи, з граматичної будови речення, без інформаційного підґрунтя не можу однозначно гарантувати значення, але український портал туди потрапив. Чекаємо вересня?..

I'm definitely considering it. That's why I took a look at what languages Fandom should allow new wikis on long-term on our platform in September. And UK made the cut

My measurement is very simple - UK right now has less traffic than e.g. Dutch. Dutch already has huge problems in terms of editor retention and winning against the "big brother" type of language. For NL it's EN directly, but for UK you have, like CA has ES, RU as other option people might choose instead of UK. So UK is very likely to have the same problems too, but even more prominent.

I do not think the localization is unpromising, it's just a matter of time and resources on my end.

I can either focus on the UK issues, or spend more time on individual top 10 languages (of which all are up to 100x more often visited than UK right now) I undeniably spend too little time on right now.

I've been working with people before that didn't have an enjoyable experience as helper. This 50/50 my fault for just trying to copy what we did elsewhere back then, and the other 50 was that we went in with wrong expectations. Like I often say today, localizing the central wiki is _not_ the way to start your language. This is a place where existing community comes together. First you need to actually make sure there is a notable community to begin with. Had we invested the time we spent on building Centrals on eg. working with wiki admins more, or even on adding content to wikis, the language as a whole would have benefitted much more.

Even in languages on non-top 10 we have on our team today, the centrals are barely visited, and it's not motivating to a volunteer to see nobody react to or interact with their work.

This is what I want to prevent when I say "frustrating a volunteer".

Both things are depending on the larger question, "how do we want to support these languages, and how can we _realistically_ do it in a way it doesn't frustrate the volunteer we choose for it".

Definitely not before April, no specific date I can give you.

No changes planned for Q1, we'll need to see about it again in Q2/Q3. There's pending changes to top 10 languages I need to tackle first, which could speed things up for UK too.

There is currenlty no plan to actively open localization for UK language very in near future. It's something I've considered for a while, but the time isn't ideal to do it right now. I just took over the LOC process from a colleague who left, I need to get used to this first before doing more with Crowdin

Уніфікована платформа — unified platform;

Об’єднана платформа — converged platform...

У мене претензії до одного тільки слова «єдиний». Як для контексту платформи це слово має забагато значень. Вона ж не одна, вона об’єднана. Щодо апострофа, для мене жодних труднощів немає: я знаю, як вставити «круглий» апостроф за допомогою комбінації клавіш, а взагалі, в мене постійно відкрите вкладення Вікіпедії для копіювання символів. Які думки?

Вітаю, шановні колеги й колежанки! Перепрошую, що пишу це тут, але мені не хотілося б засмічувати подібним стіни повідомлень. Нещодавно я зробив спонтанний запит у одному авторитетному онлайн-словнику за словосполученням unified platform. Результат містив один варіянт перекладу: уніфікована платформа. Саме такий термін нібито використовують програмісти. Також хотів би зазначити, що більшості українських лексем, якими можна описати призначення платформи, відповідає чимало англійських слів, як-от:

Об’єднаний — combined, joint, conjoint;

Сполучений, з’єднаний — united, connected;

Єдиний — one, single, whole;

Інтегрований — integrated.

На мою думку, слово unified є ясновираженим дієприкметником, тобто «пасивне» єдиний не є найточнішим перекладом. З огляду на це, я пропоную варіянти уніфікований або об’єднаний (незважаючи на труднощі, спричинені апострофом).

Ви, пане @Mix Gerder , маєте повне право відмовити без пояснення причин, але якщо мені вдалося знову привернути Вашу увагу до цієї «слизької» теми й спонукати Вас до роздумів, я вважатиму свою «місію» більш ніж виконаною.
